 As a guy who’s written a book about happiness (“Why Being Happy Matters”: whybeinghappymatters.com) I have to say how happy singing makes me. It really is a thrill to entertain the audience at the Midland Legion every Friday evening with The Midlandaires. A lot of regulars in the audience show up for each occasion, and we get newbies coming by too. The important thing is, they listen, they dance, they appreciate. And I have to say, I’m grateful to have a halfway decent voice that lets me croon songs that they know and enjoy, and be able to provide entertainment, backed by George on trumpet, Doug on keyboard, Jürgen on lead guitar, Guy on tenor sax, Nelson on alto/tenor/soprano sax and clarinet, Lary on accordion, Bob on bass, Karl on rhythm guitar, Carl on drums, Gord and Bob on vocals and yours truly crooning the faves… well, it sure is something that makes me happy. What’s not to like?
