It’s March, and with it, Women’s History Month.
And what better woman to celebrate than Ruth Lowe.
She’s the 24 year old Canadian girl who wrote the song that launched Frank Sinatra’s career, “I’ll Never Smile Again”. She went on to write Sinatra’s theme song, “Put Your Dreams Away”, plus nearly 50 other tunes for Hollywood and Broadway.
Consider too that as one of the earliest liberated females who worked in a man's world (Tin Pan Alley), Ruth never let her gender, nor her attractive good looks, get in the way of her outstanding talent.
I’m proud to have written the book about Ruth Lowe, “Until I Smile At You” (untilismileatyou.com) and pumped that it’s about to be made into a major motion picture.
So, if you’re celebrating  Women’s History Month, let’s recognize the extraordinary lady who led the pack: Ruth Lowe.
